Innovation Fair is a dynamic scientific competition at the crossroads of medical research, technological creativity, and visionary problem-solving. Participants are challenged to present projects or discoveries that can redefine healthcare, whether through novel diagnostic tools, biotechnological solutions, molecular targets, digital platforms, or preventive strategies.
Developed in collaboration with the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, this year’s edition of the Innovation Fair focuses on Longevity and Healthy Aging Sciences, a field dedicated to understanding and promoting longer, healthier, and more resilient lives.
Events like IMSCB, supported by the Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania, are idea labs where young researchers from all around the world can not only imagine the future, but start shaping it.
The challenges are huge: from costs and regulations to clinical trials that can take years. But the path forward is clear: the medicine of the future will focus on prevention, fast interventions, and personalized solutions.
When we talk about the future of medicine, artificial blood, the main subject of our very first announced keynote this edition, is just one striking example: exciting and emotionally impactful. But beyond the spectacle, IMSCB and its supporting partnerships show that Romania is ready to take part in global conversations about innovation.
And perhaps, in just a few years, we won’t be talking about the “future of medicine” anymore. We’ll be experiencing it live, right here, at the Innovation Fair.
About This Year’s Theme
Longevity & Healthy Aging Science is an emerging interdisciplinary field that explores the biological, technological, and clinical mechanisms influencing both the rate and quality of aging. It integrates insights from molecular biology, regenerative medicine, nutrition, biomedical engineering, and public health to promote long-term well-being, prevent age-related diseases, and enhance overall healthspan. Beyond addressing fundamental aging processes like cellular senescence, genomic instability, metabolic resilience, immune function, and neuroprotection, this field also encompasses interventions that improve quality of life in individuals with chronic conditions, such as heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, and other age-associated disorders.
Projects in Longevity & Healthy Aging Science aim to translate fundamental discoveries into practical, evidence-based strategies that can extend a healthy lifespan. These may include personalized diagnostics and biomarker analysis, tailored lifestyle and nutritional plans, advanced therapeutics, regenerative treatments, and preventive healthcare approaches, all designed to help people remain vibrant, functional, and resilient as they age. The ultimate goal is not just to add years to life, but to add life to years, ensuring that extended longevity is paired with meaningful improvements in health, vitality, and everyday functioning.
Why participate?
Innovation Fair is more than a contest, it is a platform for forward-thinking medical minds to demonstrate how innovation drives progress.
Selected participants will:
- showcase the originality and feasibility of their scientific or technological ideas;
- communicate their concepts effectively to a multidisciplinary audience;
- gain visibility among peers, mentors, and professionals in innovation and healthcare;
- inspire the next generation of researchers and clinicians.
For the audience, it’s a glimpse into the future of medicine, where creativity meets evidence, and young innovators shape the science of longevity.
Recognition & Awards
Two grand prizes will be awarded to recognise exceptional innovation and scientific vision:
- €1000 prize for the best student innovator;
- €1000 prize for the best resident innovator;
All finalists will receive official certificates of achievement. Beyond the monetary prize, participants gain invaluable visibility, credibility, and recognition, helping them establish themselves as emerging voices in longevity medicine.
Scientific coordinators who support participants in preparing their projects will also receive an official certificate of recognition, acknowledging their contribution. Please note that coordinators are not eligible for monetary rewards or prizes.
